The Spanish colonial architecture has hardly been touched, so it is not surprising that it has been designated a "National Historical Monument" and in 1988, UNESCO placed Trinidad on the world heritage list for its cultural treasures.

The Hotel Mesón del Regidor has recently been restored and blends well with the cityscape in Trinidad, a city noted for the preservation of its historic streets and buildings. When you arrive, you will feel as if you have stepped back in time. Trinidad has beautifully preserved its Spanish colonial architecture dating from the 17th to the 18th century. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
